Small Business Toolkit

Small businesses, the backbone of America’s economy, have been deeply affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. As California starts the path to recovery, local businesses are beginning to welcome back their employees and customers. However, reopening amid a crisis takes more than just unlocking the doors and flicking on lights.

UCI and its experts in public health have developed a digital tool kit containing information and a variety of resources to help businesses reopen safely. The content is based on guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the California Department of Public Health and the Orange County Health Care Agency. We hope you’ll find it useful.

Along with our FAQ section, this kit is intended to serve as a starting point and may not address all questions or provide all the information you need. In addition, it only deals with reopening nonessential businesses and therefore does not include guidance for essential workers. Because each business is unique, we recommend seeking advice from federal, state and local sources as you go forward with your reopening.

We wish you success with your business. You can download the toolkit below.  And we’ll update this resource as new state plans take effect and new information becomes available.

You can also sign up for our weekly email newsletter (scroll to the bottom of this page).
